Essential Job Duties
- Conduct field work activities in support of ongoing agricultural research projects.
- Operate tractors and other farm equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply pesticides according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Provide cultural care for various crops.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of research experiments and trials.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, observations, and data collection.
- Collaborate with research scientists and other team members to achieve project objectives.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Location:
Jackson Springs, NC.
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.
Minimum Experience/
Education:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Experience in agriculture production and/or agricultural research.
- Ability to operate farm machinery.
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written form. Ability to read and follow pesticide labels and research protocols.
- Ability to collect and record data accurately.
- NC Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Valid driver's license required. NC Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
- NC Forklift Driver Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Medical respirator certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
