Pay Range for the Position: $31.72 - $42.92
** About the Role*
* Join the Roxboro team as a Maintenance Electrician I and help keep our plant running safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical and automation systems that support equipment uptime and overall plant performance. This is a great opportunity for a safety-focused, detail-oriented candidate who enjoys solving problems, working with industrial equipment, and growing technical skills as part of a high-performing maintenance team.
** Key Areas of Focus*
* + Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and automation systems.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on motors, frequency drives, electrical panels, and related plant equipment.
+ Follow all company and Roxboro plant safety guidelines, including LOTO, PPE, permits, and confined space requirements.
+ Support equipment reliability, uptime, and timely escalation of critical issues.
+ Complete work orders, notifications, time confirmations, and required documentation in accordance with the maintenance process.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement through WCM tools, 5S, tags, EWO, Quick Kaizen, and KPI awareness.
** Core Responsibilities*
* + Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment using appropriate tools, testing devices, and precision instruments.
+ Diagnose electrical issues by observing equipment, listening for problems, reading schematics/manuals, and using testing equipment.
+ Complete preventive maintenance tasks by following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
+ Identify needed parts, tools, and supplies and coordinate with the storeroom as needed.
+ Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following procedures, rules, regulations, and housekeeping standards.
+ Support reactive process problem solving with maintenance, production, and other plant teams as business priorities require.
+ Participate in assigned WCM Pillar activities and contribute recommendations for improvement.
+ Maintain technical knowledge through required training, workshops, seminars, and hands-on learning.
+ Perform other related duties that support the success of the operation as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
** Technical Knowledge*
* + Basic electrical components, including contacts, relays, breakers, motors, three-phase wiring, VFDs, and like-for-like component replacement.
+ Ability to read electrical schematics, locate equipment manuals, and identify electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and process components.
+ Use of instrumentation such as multi-meters, infrared thermometers/cameras, laser alignment tools, and vibration meters.
+ Basic familiarity with machine shop equipment, mobile equipment, facility equipment, and heavy-duty plant equipment used in a manufacturing environment.
** Required Qualifications*
* + High school diploma or GED required.
+ 0-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, automated control systems, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Working knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, hand tools, and applicable electrical codes.
+ Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
+ Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Associate degree in an electrical-related field or completion of a Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
+
Experience with Allen-Bradley components and PLC systems.
+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
+
Experience with industrial safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, and Working at Heights.
** Work Environment & Schedule*
* + Must be willing to work a rotating 12.5-hour day/night shift schedule and flexible hours to support 24/7 plant operations.
+ Occasional overtime may be required.
+ Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor manufacturing environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
+ Exposure to dust, noise, confined spaces, elevated work areas, aerial lifts, and industrial equipment is expected.
** Physical Requirements*
* + Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements.
+ Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
+ Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasional team-lifting of up to 100 pounds.
+ Ability to push, pull, and maneuver tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
+ Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in a physically demanding industrial environment.
