West Fraser is seeking a Mechanical Millwright to maintain, repair, and install production equipment in our modern manufacturing facility. In this role, you will troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, align and install motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and sawmill machinery, and support safe, reliable operations. Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, conveyors, motors, and sawmill machinery
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Install, align, and commission new mechanical systems and components
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement effective repairs
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics
- Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and contribute to a safety-first culture
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to plan and prioritize work
- Document maintenance activities and parts usage in maintenance systems
- Support continuous improvement, reliability, and equipment upgrades
- Participate in training and skill development to support long-term career growth
