Chemtek is a family-owned American manufacturer that has served the asphalt industry for 50 years. Our Pave Pro products and chemical-delivery systems are used by asphalt producers and paving companies to improve safety, cleanliness, and operating efficiency.

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician II who can independently lead installations, diagnose equipment problems, resolve customer issues, and help develop less-experienced technicians.

This is a senior hands‑on field position. The successful candidate will be comfortable making decisions at customer locations, communicating with plant management, and taking ownership of a job from arrival through final testing and documentation.

What You’ll Do
  • Review installation requirements and confirm that equipment, materials, tools, and parts are ready before traveling.
  • Install chemical storage, pumping, spray, and delivery systems at asphalt plants and other customer locations.
  • Deliver Pave Pro chemical products in totes, drums, or concentrate containers.
  • Perform scheduled preventive‑maintenance inspections and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems involving pumps, hoses, valves, filters, fittings, plumbing, and basic electrical components.
  • Modify or adjust equipment when site conditions require practical field solutions.
  • Handle difficult or escalated service calls with limited supervision.
  • Lead customer start‑up, equipment orientation, and basic operator training.
  • Communicate directly with plant managers, maintenance personnel, contractors, and Chemtek management.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend design or installation improvements.
  • Assist in developing standard installation, inspection, and preventive‑maintenance procedures.
  • Train and mentor Field Service Technician I and local service technicians.
  • Support shop personnel with equipment testing and technical questions.
  • Maintain complete service records, photographs, parts documentation, and customer recommendations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Someone who loves fixing things
    - Is a natural mechanic wants to learn more about industrial equipment.
  • Someone who likes helping people.
  • At least 5 years mechanical experience with equipment maintenance, pumps, plumbing, automotive repair, agricultural equipment, or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment independently
  • Advanced understanding of electrical systems, wiring, switches, motors, or 12‑volt controls is preferred.
  • Ability to read equipment drawings, wiring diagrams, or installation instructions.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to make practical field decisions.
  • Professional customer‑service and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and support less‑experienced technicians.
  • At least two years of safe driving experience.
  • Ability to operate a heavy‑duty pickup or service truck and tow a utility trailer.
  • CDL license is preferred but Not Required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%, including overnight travel.
  • Ability to work independently on active industrial sites and follow PPE and site‑safety requirements.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work occasionally on elevated industrial platforms, ladders, and catwalks.
  • Provides Own Tools and had ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and common diagnostic equipment.
Schedule
  • Full‑time, hourly position.
  • Primarily Monday through Friday.
  • Approximately 50% travel, including overnight assignments.
  • Some early starts and overtime may be required during the paving season.
  • Time not spent traveling will include shop work, equipment testing, local service, training, and installation preparation.
