Backbone Underground Inc is seeking a dependable and hardworking Underground Utilities Construction Laborer to join our team. We specialize in public utility construction, including water, sewer, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD).
Job Responsibilities- Assist crews with installation of underground water and sewer mains and services
- Assist with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations
- Install and handle pipe, fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and other utility components
- Perform digging, trenching, back filling, and general site work
- Hand dig around existing utilities as needed
- Assist with jobsite setup and cleanup
- Load, unload, and move pipe, tools, equipment, and materials
- Safely use hand and power tools
- Work around excavators, loaders, directional drills, vacuum equipment, and other heavy equipment
- Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed
- Follow company and jobsite safety procedures
- Perform other construction duties as assigned
- Previous underground utility or construction experience preferred, but not required
- Experience with water, sewer, or HDD is a plus
- Willing to train the right candidate
- Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a crew
- Must be able to perform physical labor including digging, lifting, carrying, bending, and working on your feet throughout the day
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Must be safety-conscious and willing to learn

Previous underground utility experience is a plus, but dependability, work ethic, and willingness to learn are just as important.
