Maintenance Technician

Primary Function:
The Maintenance Technician is an entry-level position within Qualla Enterprises, LLC, and will be responsible for executing maintenance projects for all work locations operated by Qualla Enterprises, LLC. This position is established to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities operated by Qualla Enterprises and will involve a variety of general maintenance and minor construction tasks.

Pay Grade/FLSA Status: S6/Exempt
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in general maintenance of buildings/grounds preferred.
- Experience in cannabis industry preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all aspects of all buildings, essential equipment, and facilities on any properties owned and operated by the company are repaired and kept in good working order.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Respond to emergency calls regarding facility or equipment malfunctions.
- Refill gas tanks for generators and company vehicles as needed.
- Maintain records of maintenance for all equipment and building systems.
- Maintain knowledge of basic repair and maintenance procedures for production, processing, and cultivation equipment.
- Perform minor repair work as needed, including basic carpentry, drywall, painting, and machinery repair.
- Maintain overall appearance of buildings and grounds at all operation locations through making repairs, performing landscaping, and coordinating deliveries of necessary materials such as gravel or fill dirt.
- Perform minor repairs to company vehicles and equipment as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Basic maintenance and repair skills.
- Ability to work effectively individually without close supervision as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of building code requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, including flexible and/or extended hours as needed.
- Commitment to quality work with excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and tribal laws, with emphasis on OSHA regulations and Chapter 17 of the Cherokee Code of Ordinances.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, grasp, reach, twist.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working at heights with the use of ladders and/or scaffolding.
- Must be able to operate machinery including but not limited to: landscaping equipment, power tools, and cannabis processing/kitchen equipment.

Salary: $44,000 - $55,000 per year
