The Income Maintenance Caseworker III (IMC III) – Medicaid Program Specialist (Family & Children and Adult) is a vital member of the Medicaid team. The position ensures the agency consistently meets quality and timeliness standards across both program areas. Key duties include completing second‑party case reviews, managing reports, performing limited caseworker functions, identifying error trends, assisting with staff training, troubleshooting issues, referring cases to the help desk, maintaining the help desk log, and compiling and entering data into NC FAST.
The role also provides support for vacant caseloads as needed. Candidates must be available for after‑hours work and emergencies.
- Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or
- Graduation from high school and at least two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public‑contact experience that included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analyzing data, and/or performing mathematical programs; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
One (1) year experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker II is required.
Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment and to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
