Position: Correctional Case Manager (Tabor CI)

Correctional Case Manager (S)

Agency:
Adult Correction Division, Institutions Operations – NC Department of Adult Correction.

Job Overview

This role reports to the Correctional Programs Supervisor and involves carrying a caseload of offenders, providing supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, and addressing offender questions and problems.

Responsibilities
  • Providing recommendations to the classification committee.
  • Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation.
  • Planning and coordinating re‑entry transition prior to parole or release into the community.
  • Answering and following up on offender questions and problems.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or related field, or high school/GED diploma with two years of custody experience within North Carolina Department of Public Safety, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Produce a negative drug screening result.
  • Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.
Mandatory Reporting

This full‑time (40 hours per week) position is designated as “Mandatory” and requires reporting or staying over during adverse weather events.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $37,377 – $65,408.
