Casework Coordinator - Full Time
Location:
In-Person, The Joel Center in Rolesville, NC and The Veteran Co-op in Durham, NC
The Casework Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting veterans and their families. They will be leading the intake and assessment process, coordinating casework management, and follow-up action items for veterans and their families seeking resources. This position is responsible for initiating first contact with potential clients. This individual will also ensure new clients are appropriately connected to internal programs and external resources as needed.
The Casework Coordinator will also assist with internal and external events. This role ensures that every veteran and military-connected individual receives compassionate, personalized support and access to the resources they need.
- Serve as the first point of contact for new clients by conducting initial intakes and eligibility screenings.
- Maintain accurate and timely intake documentation, including intake records, notes, and follow-up action items using The Joel Fund’s case management system (Casebook) or CRM (Little Green Light).
- Report to the Operation VESSEL Program Manager regarding case updates, troubleshooting, and continuity of care.
- Proficiency in case management tools and digital collaboration platforms, including Google Drive (file sharing and permission management) and Zoom (hosting meetings and client check-ins).
- Assist the Operation Connect Program Manager with outreach events, both internally to the organization and externally at other organization’s events.
- Uphold client confidentiality and practice ethical, trauma-informed care in all client interactions.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or related field, or equivalent experience working with veteran, military, or underserved populations.
- 1–2 years of experience in client intake, case management, or related fields. Familiarity working with veteran or military-connected populations is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage compassionately and professionally with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent, and client-centered care.
- Salary: $40,000-$43,000 annually, plus a dedicated benefits allowance.
- Hours:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday hours required for events and community outreach.
