Person County Department of Social Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker II to join the Department of Social Services (DSS) in the Work First Family Assistance (WFFA) Unit.
This position plays an important role in helping individuals and families achieve stability and greater self-sufficiency. The Social Worker II evaluates applications and determines eligibility for Work First Family Assistance (WFFA), conducts ongoing redeterminations, and ensures clients receive the appropriate benefits and services based on their individual circumstances.
The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

- Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution;
- bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience;
- bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years directly related experience;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
