Your ImpactAs a Software Engineer with the Devices Technology Group, you will play a vital role in the development and lifecycle of our collaboration device portfolio. Your work will directly influence the functionality and reliability of our products. You will contribute to the design, coding, testing, and maintenance of software solutions, working closely with senior engineers to refine your craft and ensure our software meets the highest standards of quality and maintainability.
Minimum Qualifications- Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of an undergraduate degree + 2 years of relevant experience or graduate degree + 0 years of relevant experience. Relevant fields include:
Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - Proficiency in C and C++ with a focus on developing software for device‑level applications.
- Practical experience using Python for scripting, automation, and prototyping tasks.
- Familiarity with version control systems (such as Git) and standard command‑line tools to support efficient development workflows.
- Basic understanding of Java for application development and system integration.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience identifying and resolving software defects and performance issues.
- A proactive, growth‑oriented mindset with an eagerness to learn new programming languages and adapt to evolving technologies within the Cisco ecosystem.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco's policies:
- 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non‑exempt employees
- 1 paid day off for employee's birthday, paid year‑end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
- Non‑exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full‑time employees
- Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non‑sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.
