Overview
Role involves design, development, and support of Rockwell Automation and related control systems in an industrial environment. The position requires collaboration with engineering teams and suppliers to implement PLC, HMI, and MES programming, hardware, and network solutions, ensuring sensors and actuators function per specifications.
Responsibilities- Design and develop control systems, conduct bench tests, modify software and equipment to ensure correct operation of sensors and actuators, and support debugging of complex problems and change requests.
- Install and provide technical support for PLC-based hardware and software; mentor less experienced controls engineers.
- Support control activities for plant transformation in assembly and machining areas as needed, including:
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and improve processes and equipment.
- Work with equipment suppliers to drive programming, network architecture, hardware, and documentation standards for new equipment.
- Perform PLC, HMI, and MES programming changes and provide production support as needed.
- Rockwell Automation Control Logix system design experience, including motion, ladder logic, and safety programming.
- Proficiency with Rockwell Software PLC Programming (Studio 5000) and Rockwell Software HMI Programming (Factory Talk View Studio).
- Understanding of PLC hardware and communication protocols.
- Experience with machine safety systems.
- Experience or familiarity with Siemens Step 7 or other PLC versions is desirable.
- Structured text and function block programming are desirable but not required.
- Knowledge of vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Coherix) and Fanuc PMC ladder in CNC equipment is preferred.
- Bachelor-level qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Computer Science) or equivalent.
- Base Salary Range: $100,000 to $125,000 per year.
