i9 Sports is seeking a professional and friendly Youth Volleyball Official to help manage game-day operations at Topsail Middle School. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop leadership, conflict resolution, and public speaking skills in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
Key Requirements:Strong Communication Skills
This position requires excellent verbal communication skills. You will be the primary point of contact on the court, responsible for:
- Clear Instruction:
Articulating rules and gameplay mechanics to youth players (ages 7–15) in an encouraging manner. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Confidently interacting with parents and volunteer coaches to ensure a positive, sportsmanship-focused culture. - Conflict Resolution:
Managing in-game interactions with a calm, professional demeanor.
- Game Management:
Officiate 7-week season matches starting March 14, ensuring all games are played fairly and according to i9 Sports regulations. - Instructional Officiating:
Act as an "on-court coach," using your communication skills to explain calls and teach fundamental volleyball concepts during play. - Logistics:
Execute light equipment setup and breakdown to maintain a safe and organized playing environment.
- Timeline:
Saturdays only, March 14 – May 2 (7-week season). - Hours:
10:30 AM – 2:00 PM. - Holiday:
Saturday, April 4 (Easter Weekend) is observed as an off-day. - Attendance Bonus: A financial incentive is provided for perfect attendance. Candidates must be available for at least 6 of the 7 weeks.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules (prior playing or coaching experience preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Must be at least 16 years of age and able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
