School Nutrition Assistant – Poplin Elementary School

Location:

Union County Public Schools, Poplin Elementary, Indian Trail, North Carolina.

Learning Period: This position includes a three‑month learning/proficiency period.

As a School Nutrition Assistant, you will work on a Monday‑through‑Friday basis throughout the school year. Your responsibilities include:

• Assisting with food service operations in a cafeteria setting.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds as needed and remaining on your feet for extended periods.
• Maintaining the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health department regulations, including sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
• Delivering nutritious food to Union County students, faculty, and parents in a polite, fun, and engaging manner.

• Must have a passion for working with children.
• Reliable, responsible, and dependable with adherence to the work schedule.
• Understanding of quality food and service standards.

UCPS School Nutrition Services offers openings in elementary, middle, and high‑school cafeterias. The work environment is fast‑paced, lively, welcoming, and focused on safety, quality, and service.
