Description Operational Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate and oversee daily shipping operations to ensure all customer orders are accurately picked, staged, loaded, and shipped on time and in full.
  • Plan, route, and schedule shipments efficiently, optimizing delivery routes, equipment utilization, and labor resources.
  • Ensure proper loading of product to prevent damage, maintain safety, and comply with transportation and weight regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with production, warehouse, customer service, and transportation partners to align shipping priorities and resolve operational challenges.
Routing, Scheduling & Invoicing
  • Develop and manage daily and weekly shipping schedules based on customer requirements, production output, and carrier availability.
  • Utilize routing and scheduling systems to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate invoicing processes to ensure accurate documentation, timely billing, and proper reconciliation of shipped orders.
  • Verify shipping paperwork, bills of lading, invoices, and delivery documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Team Leadership & Communication
  • Lead, coach, and support the shipping team through clear direction, consistent communication, and hands‑on leadership.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and safety‑focused work environment built on respect, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Serve as a key communication link between frontline employees, management, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Provide clear expectations, feedback, and guidance to ensure consistent execution of shipping standards and procedures.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to shipping, material handling, and transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, company policies, and customer‑specific shipping requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety observations, audits, and training to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Address safety concerns proactively and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions as needed.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report key performance indicators such as on‑time delivery, order accuracy, freight efficiency, and labor productivity.
  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within shipping and logistics processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing process enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports to support operational visibility and decision‑making.
Requirements Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of shipping and logistics operations, including routing, scheduling, loading, and transportation coordination.
  • Working knowledge of invoicing processes, shipping documentation, and inventory movement.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in warehouse and shipping environments.
  • Understanding of operational metrics and performance reporting.
