Position Title: Bus Driver

Salary: $15.00 hourly based on local salary schedule

Term: 10 Month

Benefits: This position provides partial benefits including partial earned Annual and Sick Leave

• Safely transporting students to and from school.
• Performing safety pre-checks, reporting malfunctions, handling vehicle breakdowns and maintaining a clean and safe environment for students.
• Following school district procedures while driving assigned bus routes.
• Following a route (set by Transportation Director) that ensures a routine providing students and parents with a consistent and daily pick up/drop off schedule.
• Managing students' behavior while on the bus and taking suitable action to resolve incidents between/among students if incidents occur.
• Reporting appropriate behavior to school authorities as soon as possible.
• Knowing NC driving laws and regulations including safe bus operations.

• High School or Equivalent is preferred.
• CDL with (P) Passenger and (S) School Bus endorsements is required.
• Strong communication skills in dealing with students and parents.
• Leadership skills to maintain discipline on the bus.
• Dependable and punctual.
