Description
The purpose of this classification is to perform work functions associated with delivery and warehouse activities. The person in this classification will load and unload trucks and drive a delivery truck to deliver merchandise to a customer’s home or business.
Essential Functions- Drive the truck in an assigned zone or area to deliver products purchased by customers; ensure safe operation of the vehicle by assisting delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas.
- Load the truck in preparation for daily deliveries; unload merchandise at the customer location and set up as necessary.
- Obtain customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Record deliveries on a delivery record and submit to appropriate management.
- Monitor proper maintenance of and regular inspection of vehicles for adherence to safety practices; perform general maintenance of vehicles; record fuel and fluid usage and submit to management.
- Unload merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
- Maintain cleanliness of store/warehouse interior and grounds and uphold the company’s Delivery Standards.
- Place stock on shelves or racks and set up merchandise and sales‑promotion displays.
- Assemble merchandise as required.
- Assist with repossessions of goods.
- Perform general maintenance and grounds‑keeping duties for warehouse and/or store.
- Perform customer‑service inspections and/or repairs as needed.
- Perform collection field calls to delinquent customers at the request of management.

- Assist in other store departments as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED; six months of experience in a distribution or warehouse environment; or any combination of training, experience, and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and have a general familiarity with the delivery area. Must be able to meet DOT requirements (examples: Medical Examiner's Certification and Driver's DOT qualification file).

- Physical Ability:
Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort, regularly involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (up to 100 pounds) and occasionally handling heavier objects (in excess of 100 pounds). - Sensory Requirements:
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. - Environmental Factors:
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents, or toxic agents/chemicals.
