WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE – MATERIAL/RECEIVING

Pay Rate: $16.68+.45 Shift Differential
GENERAL DESCRIPTIONResponsible for general warehouse duties to include loading, unloading, moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting materials in a safe manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION- Inspect arriving trailers for possible contaminants.
- Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
- Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list.
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and appropriately report/record any discrepancies.
- Accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in a safe and orderly manner.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Assemble and fill orders to be shipped to customers.
- Prepare all shipping documentation.
- Review all orders to determine if they were picked correctly.
- Safely operate all necessary equipment in the work area, including pallet jacks, shrink wrapper, and scales.
- Check that the trailer’s outside seal is not broken and that the temperature is within spec.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Unload trailers, weigh loads, and rotate materials according to FIFO.
- Supply materials and packaging to production areas as required.
- Be attentive to any foreign objects and damage to boxes or contents.
- Able to work safely around equipment and machinery.
- Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
- EXPERIENCE: Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required. Prior forklift experience preferred but not required.
- SKILLS: Good oral communication skills.
- ADDITIONAL: Hands‑on ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co‑workers, and understand and follow posted work rules/procedures.
Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 °F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted for up to 1/3 of the workday, and 35 lbs overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
WORKHOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work overtime as needed. Some weekends are required.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONHS diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.
