Inventory Support Specialist
Job Type: Full-time, hourly
Location: Greensboro, NC (On-site)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m.
Position Summary:
As an Inventory Support Specialist, you'll help our inventory team process vintage and discontinued china, crystal, and collectibles. You'll keep the process moving by unboxing, staging, and routing incoming items; matching each shipment with its paperwork; inspecting for quality; honoring supplier requests (such as saving original boxes and packing materials); and prepping pieces for final shelving.
What You'll Do:
- Unbox and stage incoming inventory on tables/racks for processing; keep pattern pieces together for efficient flow.
- Match each shipment with its paperwork; review receipt notes and save boxes/packing materials per supplier requests.
- Inspect items during unboxing for obvious damage and escalate per guidelines.
- Follow the Prepping & Unboxing checklists so every required step is completed accurately.
- Prepare, route, and stage items between work areas as they move through processing.
- Wrap and secure returns as directed by Inventory leadership.
- Build cardboard and crystal trays as needed; move drop-off pallets using a manual pallet jack.
- Deliver completed receipts to Purchasing.
- Coordinate with Inventory leadership on cross-team handoffs to keep workflow smooth.
- Assist with Recycling Specialist duties as requested and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Support other areas during peak times or downtime (e.g., order fulfillment, warehouse stocking) after training.
- Can follow standard procedures to deliver accurate results with strong attention to detail.
- Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality to meet team and department goals.
- Can read and interpret receipt paperwork and product handling notes.
- Can organize and prioritize tasks and work reliably with minimal supervision.
- Can communicate and collaborate with leadership and teammates to keep workflow smooth.
- Can deliver excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Can use a tape measure, box cutter, and tape gun correctly.
- Can operate manual and electric pallet jacks safely.
- Can perform basic computer and data entry tasks and learn internal systems quickly.
- Can work on-site in a busy warehouse.
- Can stand and walk for most of the shift; can bend, stoop, reach, and kneel frequently.
- Can climb and work from ladders safely as needed.
- Can push and pull product carts and operate manual/electric pallet jacks regularly.
- Can lift and carry up to 25 lbs independently and team-lift items over 25 lbs.
- Can maintain clear, organized work areas; break down boxes and manage packing/recycling materials.
- Must wear required PPE and follow all posted safety procedures; report hazards or incidents promptly.
