Plasma Material Handling Associate - 1st Shift

Job Description

The Plasma Material Handling Associate serves as the primary point of contact for plasma operations within the Plasma Logistics Center. In this role, you receive, handle, classify, and control plasma inventory from donor centers through distribution to fractionation. You use RF technology and the Plasma Management System (SGP) to maintain accurate inventory tracking, ensure compliance with cGMP standards, and support efficient warehouse operations.

You also contribute to supply chain initiatives, assist team members as needed, and help drive continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

+ Receive and unload plasma shipments from donor centers, verifying shipment accuracy and recording all inventory in the Plasma Management System (SGP).

+ Sort, label, and organize plasma units according to established procedures and work orders.

+ Inspect pallets, crates, and containers for damage and determine their suitability for continued use, removing or reporting damaged materials as required.

+ Operate RF (Radio Frequency) scanning equipment to track and manage plasma inventory throughout warehouse and freezer storage areas.

+ Pick and stage plasma inventory in accordance with work orders and production requirements, ensuring timely and accurate material availability.

+ Identify, segregate, and remove non-conforming or unsuitable plasma units from production inventory in line with quality and regulatory standards.

+ Support classification processes by handling rejected, reallocated, or reclassified plasma units and documenting actions in the appropriate systems.

+ Maintain accurate inventory control across receipt, storage, classification, and distribution by following established cGMP and inventory management procedures.

+ Ensure compliance with cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), OSHA, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations at all times.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area, including warehouse and cold storage environments.

+ Participate in cross-functional supply chain activities and continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and quality.

+ Follow detailed written procedures and instructions to perform tasks consistently and accurately.

+ Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to coordinate workflows, resolve issues, and support operational goals.

+ Safely store plasma in freezers and transport materials throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment, including electric pallet jacks.

+ Perform basic data entry and documentation using computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Essential Skills

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Ability to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

+ Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

+ Strong organizational and time management skills.

+ Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

+ Ability to lift 25-50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.

+ Ability to work in cold storage environments at temperatures of
-30°C or colder.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following detailed instructions and written procedures.

+ Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership in both verbal and electronic formats.

+ Ability to safely and effectively operate electric pallet jacks and rider electric pallet jacks.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other FDA-regulated environment is desirable.

+ Experience working in cGMP-regulated environments is preferred.

+ Knowledge of cGMP and industry standards is preferred.

+ Experience reading, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is desirable.

+

Experience with the Plasma Management System (SGP) or similar inventory management systems is preferred.

+ Familiarity with RF scanning technology and warehouse management systems (WMS) is an advantage.

+ Experience in cold chain logistics or regulated supply chain environments is beneficial.

+ Demonstrated ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

+ Capability to interpret and follow written procedures accurately.

+ Comfort using basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Work Environment

This role operates in a warehouse and plasma logistics environment that includes both standard warehouse conditions and extreme cold storage areas at temperatures of
