Description

The IT Field Services Technician provides advanced onsite and field-based technical support for multiple practice and headquarters locations. This role serves as an escalation point for the Service Desk, performs comprehensive onsite IT assessments, and supports server and virtual machine environments. The position requires frequent travel, after-hours support availability, and strong hands-on technical expertise across Windows, macOS, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated IT professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-site environment and enjoys combining technical depth with customer-facing support.

Key Responsibilities Field Services & Deployment
- Deploy, configure, and support IT equipment at practice locations and headquarters, including servers, desktops, laptops, peripherals, and network-connected devices
- Perform onsite installations and refreshes of PC and Mac systems, ensuring compliance with company standards
- Coordinate IT equipment rollouts, relocations, and decommissions across multiple sites Onsite IT Assessments
- Conduct comprehensive onsite IT practice assessments to evaluate infrastructure, hardware, software, and security posture
- Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities; document findings and recommend remediation plans
- Partner with IT leadership to standardize and improve onsite IT environments Onsite Support & Field Coverage
- Provide onsite IT support for local DFW practices and remote sites as needed
- Travel frequently to support multi-site operations, including potential out-of-state locations
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for end users, vendors, and leadership at supported locations Advanced & Tier 3 Support
- Act as Tier 3 escalation support for the Service Desk, resolving complex hardware, software, and infrastructure issues
- Diagnose and resolve advanced Windows, macOS, and networking issues
- Provide root cause analysis and contribute to long-term resolution strategies Server & Virtual Infrastructure Support
- Support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Assist with server and virtual machine provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and patching
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams on system reliability and performance Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
- Track work, changes, and assets using IT service management and documentation tools
- Provide suggestions to improve processes based on support experience. On-Call & After-Hours Support
- Provide after-hours and weekend support as required to maintain business continuity

Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in IT Support, Field Services, or Infrastructure roles
- Intermediate to strong experience with: o Windows Server environments o Active Directory administration o Windows OS and macOS support o PC and workstation installations and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience supporting users onsite across multiple locations
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a field-based role
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including occasional out-of-state travel, up to 80% travel
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as: o CompTIA A+ o CompTIA Network+ o ITIL Foundation
- Experience supporting dental, clinical, or multi-practice environments (preferred) - Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar) - Experience working in hybrid or enterprise IT environments Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work in office, clinical, and field environments
- Availability for after-hours and weekend support (minimal)

Skills & Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, be dynamic, be able to adapt and think on their feet. Some examples of issues they would be resolving would be troubleshooting circuit down events, being familiar with network fundamentals, troubleshooting networks, Windows operating systems, troubleshooting file share drive mapping etc. Travel would be mostly local to DFW and neighboring states, but also have some other state locations that they may need to stay overnight and fly there.

Will get a company card. SOME OF THE WORK DONE DURING TRAVEL IS AFTER HOURS WORK FOR THE CLINICS. SALARY IS 65-70k
