HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR FOR SITE CONSTRUCTION

Job DescriptionThis full‑time position will operate heavy equipment including rollers, excavators, dozers, front‑end loaders, and other equipment for our construction company. The work may involve extreme temperatures. Fine‑grade operators with GPS experience are encouraged to apply. Only experienced operators need apply. We also operate dirt pits and source operators from this continuous posting.
General Requirements- Must be 18 years or older to work in the field (preferably 21 years or older to operate heavy equipment or drive for the company).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather and conditions (rain, heat, cold, mud, dirt, dust, humidity, loud environments, and extreme temperatures). Weather may alter your work schedule.
- Must bring and wear personal protective gear daily as specified site‑by‑site, which may include hard hat, glasses, safety vest, ear plugs (provided by the company).
- Must provide and wear our own long pants, work‑rated boot and at least a 4‑inch sleeve or longer.
- Must be able to reliably get to and from the jobsites on time every day in the tri‑county area.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed or when required.
- Must be able to perform repetitive heavy manual labor, which may include but is not limited to standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, and lifting heavy items repeatedly.
- Must be safety conscious and aware of surroundings.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test and ongoing quarterly testing.
- Some positions require background checks and clean driving records (as specified).
- All new hires will be on a 90‑day probation.
- Experienced operation of heavy equipment, preferably 2 years or more.
- Experienced operators on 2 or more types of heavy equipment (rollers, excavator, dozer, front end loader, motor grader) preferably with GPS.
- May construct and grade roads, building pads, ponds, slopes to specifications with accuracy to meet production goals.
- Must pre‑inspect equipment, keep paperwork for safety and usage hours daily.
- May be exposed to vehicular traffic; caution and awareness are essential.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Use of shovel may be necessary as an operator.
- Should have a driver’s license, REAL a clean background.
- Perform any other general duties as directed and other construction duties not yet described.
- Will load dump trucks in a timely, efficient and safe manner using an excavator typically. Only experienced operators will be considered due to high volume demand/work load.
- MSHA training may be required for all dirt pit employees and will be provided.
- May smooth out construction roads in and out of the dirt pits or construction site.
Hours may vary but typical construction is 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
