The Career and Student Services Intern supports the Career and Student Services Coordinator (CSSC) in helping students progress toward successful program completion, career readiness, and training‑related employment. The internship is designed to provide structured, supervised exposure to student services, career development, employer relations, graduate follow‑up, and post‑secondary career‑school compliance practices.

The intern will participate in orientation and graduation activities, student follow‑up, career‑readiness workshops, employer research and outreach support, job fairs, resume and interview preparation, placement documentation, and ACCET‑related completion and placement record‑keeping. The intern supports departmental goals but does not independently own completion or placement quotas, make final placement decisions, sign institutional compliance reports, or replace regular employees.

• Shadow and assist the CSSC with scheduled student check‑ins to learn program completion requirements, career goals, and appropriate student‑support practices.
• Assist with approved outreach to students who are absent from class using established scripts, communication standards, and escalation procedures.
• Help schedule and document student meetings at designated intervals; refer attendance, academic, conduct, financial, or personal concerns to the appropriate staff member.
• Support outreach to students who withdrew and to graduates who may need assistance returning for approved pre‑employment refresher training or skills updating.
• Maintain professional, supportive student relationships while observing confidentiality, FERPA requirements, and institutional policies.

• Assist with classroom presentations and seminars on communication, professionalism, employability skills, resume writing, job‑search strategies, and interview preparation under staff supervision.
• Support resume‑writing and mock‑interview workshops in the student resource center and help students prepare employment‑ready materials.
• Help notify students and graduates of verified job openings and career events and encourage timely follow‑through on applications, interviews, and requested documentation.
• Communicate with instructors, under CSSC direction, to better understand student skill development and how qualifications align with employer needs.
