Job OverviewSeeking a Senior Facilities Controls Engineer (Level
4) to support a newly established workstream within Enterprise Services, Technology & Systems. This role focuses on governance and management of building operational technology assets across Boeing’s portfolio, in partnership with Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF).
The selected candidate will support the Operational Technology Team and Program Manager for Boeing’s Connected Asset System, serving as a subject matter expert in Building & Infrastructure controls and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical troubleshooting and remediation for Building Management Systems (BMS) / Building Automation Systems (BAS), including controllers, sensors, field devices, and integrations.
- Analyze and resolve alarms, faults, and system issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support enterprise-wide SCADA platform rollout and system integrations.
- Evaluate IT/OT interfaces and ensure reliable data flow across enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot industrial communication protocols (BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP).
- Review and update technical documentation including control diagrams, sequences of operation, network architecture, and commissioning reports.
- Produce monthly leadership reports on system performance and corrective actions.
- Provide contractor oversight and technical direction to third-party integrators.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, facilities, IT, production, and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Manufacturing preferred).
- 8+ years of related engineering experience.
- 8+ years working with Building Automation Systems, controllers, and SCADA systems.
- 8+ years experience with communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, BACnet).
- 5+ years troubleshooting industrial communication networks using diagnostic tools.
- 5+ years leading cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience.
- Experience supporting production, facilities, IT, or supply chain functions.
- Experience commissioning and testing Building Automation Systems.
- Experience managing technical contractors and vendors.
- Experience with building control platforms such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls (Metasys), Siemens (Desigo), Schneider Electric (Eco Struxure), or Trane.
- Experience executing controls projects from concept through commissioning.
- Familiarity with advanced or AI-based analytics tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical discipline (ABET preferred), with typically 9+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
