Job Summary:

We are seeking an Experienced Aircraft Painter on the 787 Program in North Charleston, South Carolina. The assignment lasts 3‑4 weeks for site foundational work.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform painting of aircraft sections per customer design and unique livery requirements.
  • Verify aircraft ready for exterior finish.
  • Create necessary patterns, perform layout and apply prescribed primers, paints and finishes to exterior of aircraft.
  • Prepare exterior surface of aircraft for painting.
  • Apply aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections.
  • Work 100% on site.
  • Work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment (Fall Protection Certification required).
  • Support all shifts; shifts assigned to meet business needs.
  • Attend and pass required training classes; failure may lead to assignment termination.
Paint Experience
  • Adhesive Materials/Processes – Knowledge of epoxy, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, etc.
  • Color Match – Knowledge of color space, color analysis, paint formulation and techniques.
  • Engineering Drawings & Specs – Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings.
  • General Shop Processes – Knowledge of shop processes including FOD prevention, material handling, safety, calibration, ESD.
  • Materials & Processing – Knowledge of metal, polymer, composite, sealant, and ceramic processing.
  • Organic Chemical Processing – Knowledge of top‑coating, priming, surface cleaning.
  • Polymers & Composite Materials – Knowledge of carbon, fiberglass, aramid, adhesives, thermoset/thermoplastic resins.
