Geodesicx, Inc. is in search of a Creo Modeler / Drafter to join our team in the Charleston, SC area.
Summary:
The Creo modeler / Drafter will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of 3D models and 2D technical drawings in support of the integration of C4
ISR components, systems, and fabrications of mounting solutions on the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). This role involves building and maintaining system-level models, assisting the customer in the development of engineering analysis, and advising on configuration management and BOM/kit structure. This effort supports the Systems and Software Engineering and Acquisition Management Support for the Vehicular Technology Transition Integrated Products Team (IPT), ACV Project.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain system-level 3D models of ACV components and systems.
- Assist in the development of inputs/products to support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR).
- Working with metal fabrication designs, modeling and 2D drawing layout with weldment and detail views with all necessary dimensioning and notes along with welding symbols and any GD&T required to build parts and assemblies.
- Create and maintain 2D technical drawings from 3D models, adhering to relevant standards.
- Assist the customer in the development of engineering analysis by providing accurate drawings and detailed models.
- Assist in the development of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to implement design improvements.
- Maintain CAD-based bills of material for entire vehicle systems with numerous complex variants.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in PTC Creo Parametric with Sheet metal
- Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Proven experience in drafting, design, and/or production support
- Mechanical design experience in support of ground-based tactical vehicle systems or shipboard applications
- Proficiency in creating 3D models and 2D drawings of singular components to complex multi-part assemblies
- Familiarity with the creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and associated standards such as MIL-STD-31000 and ASME Y14.100.
- Knowledge of configuration management practices, including developing engineering change notices, modifying, and/or updating engineering Bills of Materials, and creating problem reports.
Desired
Skills:
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of Windchill utilizing PDMLink for data management.
