Structural And Payload Design Engineer
Our organization seeks a Structural and Payload Design Engineer to develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements. This role involves maintaining and modifying system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools to provide product definitions across engineering groups, production, and suppliers. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, engaging with the full product lifecycle from design and supplier coordination to validation and certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
- Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools.
- Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements.
- Manage supplier development, test, and production activities, coordinating with suppliers to optimize design.
- Provide engineering support and project leadership within a production system.
- Engage directly with aerospace suppliers or airlines.
- Validate and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and work with regulators.
- Support aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and certification.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
Experience:
9+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification, or an equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.
Technical
Skills:
Experience with design for manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
- Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, and release processes.
- Experience in program or project management, including development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, and risk management.
- Experience leading a cross-functional team.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
- Ability to use a variety of media to convey information and ideas to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development.
