Mid‑Level Structural Analysis Engineer – Systems Stress Team

Location:

North Charleston, SC

Job Title:

Mid‑Level Structural Analysis Engineer – Systems Stress team for Boeing 787 Airframe in Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform stress analysis on Boeing 787 aircraft systems and commodities using classical hand‑analysis methods, finite element tools, and dynamic simulation methods.
  • Review supplier documents in support of supplier technical oversight, including engineering drawings, analyses, test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish the airplane systems commodity designs.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to define the product environment such as load cases, interface architecture, and interface loads.
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance.
  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to validate systems and components against requirements and specifications.
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate that requirements are satisfied for customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Support in‑service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develop certification‑related documentation to support CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects.
  • Collaborate and perform oversight on projects with international partners and suppliers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences).
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience performing stress analysis on airplane systems or related structures.
  • 1+ year of experience performing classical hand‑analysis methods using industry‑proven methods.
  • Prior experience with manufacturing/production systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working on airplane systems structures such as Avionics, Electrical Equipment & Installation, Environment Control Systems, Flight Controls, Flight Deck, Fuel Systems, and Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems.
  • Experience developing certification‑related documentation.
  • Experience developing test plans/procedures or leading test execution.
  • Experience supporting technical oversight of component test programs.
  • Knowledge of Part 21 and Part 25 Code of Federal Regulations and experience interacting with Federal Regulators.
Schedule and Compensation
  • Shift: First shift (additional shift requirements possible).
  • Pay Range (Experienced – Level
    3): $103,700 – $140,300.
