Systems Stress Engineer Level 3 or 4
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)
Role OverviewOur organization is seeking Systems Stress Engineers for both mid-level (Level
3) and senior (Level
4) positions to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform aircraft structural stress analysis, evaluate designs for structural integrity, and support aircraft development and production activities. This is an opportunity to work with cross-functional engineering teams on critical aerospace projects.
- Perform aircraft structural stress analysis using classical hand analysis, Finite Element, and/or Dynamic Simulation methods.
- Evaluate designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance with requirements.
- Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish commodity designs.
- Coordinate with other engineering groups to define the product's environment, including load cases and interface architecture.
- Guide product design and verify structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop test plans, support test execution, and analyze results to validate systems and components.
- Define and document certification and test results for regulatory agencies.
- Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
- Level 4 engineers will mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
Experience Level 3- 5+ years of related work experience.
- 3+ years of experience performing stress analysis on airplane systems or related structures.
- 1+ years of experience performing classical hand analysis methods.
- Prior experience with manufacturing or production systems.
- 9+ years of related work experience.
- 5+ years of experience performing stress analysis on airplane systems or related structures.
- 3+ years of experience performing classical hand analysis methods.
- Prior experience with aircraft, heavy structures, hardware systems, or interiors manufacturing/production systems.
- Experience working on airplane systems structures such as Avionics, Electrical Equipment, Environment Control Systems, Flight Controls, Flight Deck, Fuel Systems, and Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems.
- Experience leading or providing oversight of structural test programs.
- Prior mentoring or leadership responsibilities.
- Extensive commercial aircraft experience.
- Experience developing and completing certification-related documentation.
This position is for the 1st shift and is located onsite in North Charleston, SC. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. Candidates must be able to work without requiring visa sponsorship.
