Location:

North Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform aircraft structural stress analysis. This role involves evaluating designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance, supporting aircraft development, and working with engineering teams. As a senior engineer, you will be expected to mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft structural stress analysis.
  • Evaluate strength of structural non-conformances and repairs.
  • Assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze dispositions for structural integrity and identify deviations that could impact design intent.
  • Provide alternate repair recommendations to meet structural requirements.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree in Engineering, with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.

Experience:

  • 9+ years of related work experience in structural analysis engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace or aircraft industry is required.
  • Background in supporting aircraft structures and systems.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in aircraft stress analysis.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated mentorship and coaching ability.

Work Environment

This position is for the first shift and requires working onsite. The role involves a proactive and collaborative team environment, with a focus on utilizing LEAN best practices and managing multiple assignments with a sense of urgency. The ability to support domestic travel up to 10% of the time is desired.
