Role Overview:
In this role, you will support system safety engineering and compliance activities across C5
ISR defense acquisition programs. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, project-oriented environment and collaborates with a team of multidisciplinary professionals across logistics, engineering, and program management.

- Technically proficient and committed to continuous learning within the safety and defense acquisition domain
- Professional in conduct, communication (written and oral), and representation of Catalyst Solutions in client and corporate settings
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills; able to manage multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills; effective in both independent and team environments; able to assimilate client needs quickly and adapt to new tools
- Able to read, synthesize, and apply high volumes of technical and regulatory information rapidly
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint); familiarity with hazard tracking databases and DoD program documentation systems
Specific Duties:
- Develop, review, and maintain system safety documentation, including: PESHE/NEPA, Safety Assessment Reviews, Hazard Logs, Warnings & Cautions addenda, Safety Data Sheets, Facility Impact Reports, Technical Instructions (TIs), Safety of Use Messages (SOUMs), Disposal Plans, FRACAS/mishap reports, TEMPs, SEPs/SAMPs, and System Safety Program Plans (SSPP)
- Support OEM and vendor coordination for safety compliance, safety data, and hazardous material management.
- Identify and track Critical Safety Items (CSI); support Design Interface activities to embed safety requirements during development and modification.
- Perform ILA support for safety-related elements; coordinate with program offices on regulatory and directive compliance throughout the system life cycle.
- Participate in IPT meetings, Safety Review Boards, and working groups; prepare observations, recommendations, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.
- Review and recommend updates to IPS documentation (TMs, QRGs, Fielding Plans) from a safety perspective; prepare responses to program taskers for Government review.
Education &
Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety preferred
- USMC Ground Safety certification or equivalent DoD safety certification required
- Laser Safety Officer (LSO) certification or LSRB experience preferred
- Hazardous Materials Transportation certification (49 CFR / IATA) preferred
- DAU coursework in system safety, life cycle logistics, or IPS preferred
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on defense system safety experience, must include at least three (3) of the following:
Nominal Ocular Hazard Distance (NOHD) analysis
Previous Experience Desired:
- USMC Ground Safety Specialist or equivalent DoD ground safety billet
- Laser Safety Officer (LSO) or Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualification
- Hazardous Materials Transportation certification (49 CFR / IATA / IMDG)
- Military occupational experience as Embarkation/Logistics Specialist with transportation safety exposure
