Job Responsibilities
Provide senior level experience with technical expertise to analyze complex options and prepare complex power distribution facility designs for residential, commercial, industrial projects and large projects related to the reliability of the distribution grid.
Lead the workflow and activities of Engineering Technologists and others as assigned, assist with training new employees, and act as a liaison between the client and the team with project updates.
Collaborate closely with the Pike Engineering Professional Engineer to coordinate efforts and ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal codes, as well as client standards.
Design complex electric distribution facilities and circuit construction projects across a wide geographic area including downtown underground projects, high‑profile projects, highway relocation projects, and other high reliability projects.
Prepare site drawings, construction drawings, calculations, easements, and all other required documentation for complex installations of electrical distribution facilities.
Create work requests using work‑management tools and communicate effectively with clients and end‑use customers about schedules, commitments, project feasibility, time frames, and expectations.
Develop relationships with key internal and external customers, builders, developers, electricians, other utilities, and city officials as needed to execute client job responsibilities.
Coordinate with construction personnel and the client/customer to resolve job‑site issues related to design or customer issues.
Serve as a departmental lead to assist with training and providing technical support for other engineering classifications.
Represent the company and client positively and professionally while supporting both business goals and expectations.
Act as the lead or single point of contact for large infrastructure projects or programs, coordinating a team of technicians, engineers, and field resources to meet project deliverables and program goals.
Learn, practice, and promote all safety policies and procedures 100% of the time.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications- Education:
Preferred Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school;
Preferred Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in science, math, engineering, or business (Associate or Bachelor's may be required based on client or contractual requirements). - Experience:
5‑7 years in utility power distribution engineering or a related craft. - Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings. - Mathematical
Skills:
Proficiency in arithmetic, percentages, ratios, proportions, bases, algebra, geometry, and spreadsheet calculations. - Analytical
Skills:
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; solve practical problems with limited standardization; demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and time management. - Technical Proficiency:
Proficient user of personal computers, especially Microsoft Office applications. - Driver:
Valid driver’s license and vehicle suitable for business use (mileage reimbursement may apply). - Additional
Skills:
Ability to participate in storm restoration activities as a Damage Assessor, Team Lead, or Field Supervisor/Manager.
