Job Overview

This role is embedded in the Operations Engineering group at our new state-of-the-art device manufacturing facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. Together with the rest of the team, you will lead and support project engineering activites related to the development of medical drug delivery systems. You will work closely with other key stakeholders, both locally and globally, to manage projects and engineer systems to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency of the site.

Main

Responsibilities
  • Support project teams, coordinating internal/external resources, providing technical input where necessary, and delivering robust solutions against determined budgets and timelines
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, production technicians, quality representatives, maintenance, and engineering peers to improve process & equipment reliability to meet all customer, business & regulatory requirements
  • Provide internal project management capabilities to support team members on improvement and expansion projects
  • Support the development of engineering improvement plans and requirement setting for capacity expansion in collaboration with our Technology Transfer team and global Industrialization counterparts
  • Lead receiving function for work-packages related to the scale-up acitvities in Charleston, such as the introduction of new toolsets, new assembly equipment, or other manufaucturing capabilities
  • Understand current practices and develop new or improved processes and methodologies based on in-depth first-hand experience
  • Lead & support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and process & equipment troubleshooting using industry-standard problem-solving methods and tools
  • Manage technology transfer (receiver function) of new products and processes into mass production
  • Support acceptance testing and validation activities as necessary
  • Promote use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Provide highest level of technical expertise
Skills and Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent education/experience required
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works preferred)
  • Knowledge of common problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
  • Experience translating customer requirements to internal specifications
  • Ability to manage complex engineering projects with support from colleagues and management
  • Statistical analysis knowledge, including an understanding of how to execute Design of Experiments (DoE)
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and focus on efficiency, effectiveness and cost
  • Medical device experience preferred
