The Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Intern will join our team for a 12 week internship. The CEI Intern will assist our team with infrastructure projects involving roads, bridges, and utilities. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world scenarios and develop practical skills in the field of construction engineering and inspection. The intern will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and support various aspects of project management, quality assurance, and field inspections.

Once qualified candidates have been identified, the recruiting team will schedule interviews.

• Assist with monitoring, testing and conformance of client/contractor work on various projects to ensure plans, specifications, materials, traffic & erosion control devices, quality assurance and safety standards are met
• Perform engineering inspection activities such as construction observation, conducting field tests for concrete, asphalt, & earthworks under the supervision of a senior engineer
• Ensure all materials, procedures and safety rules comply with the latest DOT standards.
• Record daily construction inspection notes for CEI document management
• Assist engineers with development of spreadsheet tools
• Copy and scan project related drawings
• Other duties assigned by supervisor

• High School Diploma required
• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Junior or Senior preferred)
• Current driver’s license with a safe 3-year driving records required
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills desired
• Organization and planning skills required
• Demonstrated research skills and resourcefulness
  
  Ability to work well individually and in a team
• Demonstrated interest and ambition to learn and work in a competitive, fast-paced industry
