Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) is seeking a Mid-Level Roadway Engineer for one of our South Carolina offices located in Columbia, North Myrtle Beach, or North Charleston.
As a Roadway Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical development and production of roadway design projects. This position is highly design-focused and offers the opportunity to work independently on a wide range of transportation projects while continuing to expand your engineering expertise under the guidance of senior technical staff.
You will be responsible for developing horizontal and vertical alignments, preparing roadway construction plans, and performing geometric analyses, quantity computations, drainage coordination, and cost estimates. Working within SCDOT design criteria, AASHTO guidance, and industry best practices, you will apply engineering principles to produce practical, quality design solutions that meet project objectives and client requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical contributor who can independently execute most aspects of roadway design and plan production while recognizing when more complex engineering challenges require collaboration with senior engineers. You will regularly coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, incorporate quality control feedback, and support the advancement of projects through all phases of design.
This role is best suited for an engineer who enjoys the technical aspects of transportation design, takes pride in producing accurate and detailed deliverables, and is motivated to continuously develop your roadway engineering skills. Opportunities to mentor junior staff, contribute to technical discussions, and expand project responsibilities will be available as experience and expertise grow.
Qualifications:- Mid-level: 4-7 years of experience
- Experience working with SCDOT is required
- South Carolina PE License or ability to obtain it within 6 months is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn from and collaborate with teammates
- Open Roads Designer (ORD) or 3D Modeling experience is a plus
