Job DescriptionAs a Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist, you will support a multi-team Agile software development program by designing, implementing, and maintaining structured knowledge-sharing practices that enhance program execution, reduce operational risk, and improve organizational maturity. You will work across Product, Development, Test, Dev Ops, and Program Management functions to ensure critical technical, process, and operational knowledge is captured, organized, and readily accessible.
Your efforts will directly support program continuity, compliance readiness, and long-term scalability. This role is critical to strengthening cross-team communication, reducing knowledge silos, and improving overall program cohesion. You will act as a central integrator of information, ensuring that technical knowledge, business processes, and operational standards are institutionalized rather than retained informally. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, technical leads, and Program Management to identify gaps in documentation, streamline information flow, and implement sustainable knowledge governance practices.
This is not a purely administrative or technical writing role; it is a strategic function focused on enabling program maturity and resilience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technical Writing, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field (or must have degree in process)
- 2+ years technical writing, editing, and proofreading experience
- 2+ years experience with knowledge management, technical documentation, process improvement, or related field within a software development environment
- Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development teams
- Demonstrated ability to organize complex technical and operational information into structured, accessible formats
- Experience with collaboration and documentation platforms, specifically Confluence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- XML or HTML familiarity
- Experience with Adobe technical suite
- Experience with HAT tools (health authoring tools)
- Experience with Robo Help or Frame Maker (Adobe tools)
- Experience supporting government or regulated programs
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS preferred)
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices
- Agile or Knowledge Management certifications (ex. CSM, SAFe, ITIL, KM certification)
