Azure Engineer
George Consulting is seeking an Azure Engineer to support and advance the USMC Enterprise Dev Sec Ops ecosystem across both engineering and operational domains. This role blends systems engineering, future capability development, sustainment operations, platform reliability, security compliance, and customer onboarding to ensure the Azure Enterprise Dev Sec Ops environment remains modern, stable, secure, and aligned with long-term mission needs. This position provides full-lifecycle technical support from requirements analysis and architecture design to pipeline operations, patching, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesOperational Stability & Platform Management
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, uptime, and performance of enterprise applications.
- Sustain day to day operations for Azure services including VMs, storage, networking, ACR, Key Vault, container workloads, and hybrid integrations.
- Ensure all Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, security tools, pipelines, and platforms remain up to date with required OS, application, and platform-level packages necessary for accreditation.
Accreditation & Compliance Maintenance
- Maintain current platform accreditation by applying patches, updates, configuration changes, and compliance controls across both cloud services and Dev Sec Ops toolsets.
- Operate automated security capabilities such as Trellix, Invicti, Anchore, SAST/DAST scanning, and compliance automation to ensure alignment with DoD frameworks.
- Review Azure Monitor analytics, logs, alerts, and events to identify and remediate subscription or resource issues.
Customer Onboarding & Support
- Lead customer onboarding efforts into the Azure Enterprise Dev Sec Ops environment, ensuring correct provisioning, compliance, RBAC assignment, configuration, and documentation.
- Provide ongoing helpdesk support via Remedy, resolving incidents, managing tickets, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Operate and troubleshoot Dev Sec Ops tools including Git Hub Advanced Security (CodeQL, Dependabot, SBOM), Git Hub Workflows, and VS Code/Enterprise.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines in production and pre-production environments, resolving operational pipeline failures and maintaining availability.
System Administration
- Administer Linux environments (RHEL, Ubuntu) used for appliances, servers, and toolchain components.
- Administer Windows Server environments including domain joins, SCCM troubleshooting, policy enforcement, and server health management.
Infrastructure-as-Code & Automation Support
- Implement operational automation using IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep), Azure CLI, and Power Shell scripting to streamline resource management.
- Support operational tasks related to application integration, SQL connectivity, and hybrid cloud mappings.
- Participate in incident response, perform root cause analysis, and support post-incident reviews to improve system reliability.
- Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, onboarding processes, and compliance artifacts to ensure audit readiness.
- Collaborate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stand-ups.
This position requires an active Department of Defense Top Secret or Secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications- Current and active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Math, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (IAT Level II).
- 8+ years' experience (Bachelor's) or 6+ years (Master's).
- Strong experience operating CI/CD pipelines, Dev Sec Ops tools, and cloud-native environments.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration.
- Hands-on experience with automated security compliance tools.
- Experience with Azure CLI, Power Shell, Terraform/Bicep, and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Experience with DoD or USAF cloud environments (Cloud One, Platform One).
- Experience with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
- Cloud certifications such as CKAD, KCNA, Azure Admin, Azure Developer, Azure Architect, AWS Dev Ops, etc.
