Summary

The Manager of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overseeing the IT department and ensuring all technology systems and infrastructure are operating efficiently and effectively. Responsible for constant evaluation of organizational Information Technology Systems to improve service, quality, and organizational efficiency throughout Sharing Hope SC. Delivers excellent customer service to the workforce, customers, stakeholders, and partners, and assuring effective IT support for the organization.

Summary

The Manager of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overseeing the IT department and ensuring all technology systems and infrastructure are operating efficiently and effectively. Responsible for constant evaluation of organizational Information Technology Systems to improve service, quality, and organizational efficiency throughout Sharing Hope SC. Delivers excellent customer service to the workforce, customers, stakeholders, and partners, and assuring effective IT support for the organization.

Recommends budget and resources to maximize IT value and impact, with attention to security, streamlining and standardizing business processes, addressing organizational needs, supporting strategic plans and operations, management, planning, and decision-making.

This position is a full-time, in-person role based in our Charleston, SC office.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor the IT team, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Provides assistance with process improvement where IT infrastructure is integral to the improvement. Monitor and participate in the compilation of OPO quality measures.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems. Manage server and network infrastructure, including backups and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Responsible for the security, integrity, and quality of the IT infrastructure. Ensure system availability, training, documentation of systems, and protection of all IT assets.
  • Safeguards the organization through managing the security of the organization's systems including, but not exclusive of management of firewalls, virus software, systems patches, password maintenance and documentation, and security audits.
  • Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure improvements. Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Create and maintain appropriate vendor/consultant relationships. Negotiate and engage with vendors and leverage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve quality and cost effectiveness of vendor services, while monitoring vendor performance and metrics.
  • Provide high-level support for complex technical issues and escalations. Establish and maintain IT support processes to address user needs effectively.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives. Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption or upgrades.
  • Establish and maintain IT specific procedures, policies, standards that protect the organization’s data and systems which support the company's goals.
  • Ensures integration and utilization of external systems and agencies in the OPO and Tissue industry per company strategic and business direction (such as government/regulatory, hospitals, organizations, and agencies.)
  • Develop and maintain an inventory plan and system to track, rotate and replace equipment.
  • Drives education efforts to support company's respect for and use of technology.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required ;
  • Minimum 5 years of direct or supervisory experience with infrastructure support including virtualization, networks, servers, desktops, printers, database management, telephone integration, security and helpdesk;
  • Five years of experience with an organ and/or tissue procurement agency preferred; or
  • Experience managing IT teams and handling complex IT environments;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and IT service management methodologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
