Job Summary

An Associate Project Manager manages client projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. Oversees all aspects of projects and is the primary client contact, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress.

Reports directly to the Construction Branch Manager and works closely with the Construction Operations Manager and other Project Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects up to $300,000, and work under a Construction Project Manager on larger projects in a supportive role.
  • Manage less complex projects with fewer crews and subcontractors, projected annual revenue production of $1-2mm.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Assess and train field talent and personnel.
  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure performance using project management tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to the Construction Branch and Construction Project Manager as needed.
  • Manage relationships and communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendor partners.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify requirements.
  • Delegate tasks based on employees’ strengths, skill sets, and experience.
  • Track project performance to analyze successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on established budgets.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules to share with clients and staff.
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills.
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to enhance teamwork and problem‑solving.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in or related field; certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of field management experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to drive for short to long distances.
  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
