JobOverview
The Production Technician – Metal Forming will be the front-line technician responsible for daily operation and maintenance of their assigned machinery on their assigned shift. The Production Technician’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that the machinery operates with minimal waste and as efficiently as possible.
Main Responsibilities- After the initial training period, must pass certification to operate the machinery
- Regularly use part drawings, caliper, and micrometer, etc. to ensure part meets specifications
- Demonstrate a Safety-First mindset, proactively enforce all Safety Policies and Procedures
- Operate in accordance with all pre-established Quality Policies and Procedures
- Analyze machine performance using data as well as mechanical knowledge to proactively address machine issues
- Appropriately operate your machinery of responsibility to ensure the maximum OEE is achieved each shift
- Perform weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual PMs as required to ensure that your line of responsibility remains reliable and in optimal condition
- Proactively make suggestions for Safety, Quality, and Production improvements
- Ensure operations and practices comply with established procedures and records
- Ensure in-process tests and inspections are performed in accordance with standard procedures
- Analyze and solve complex operational issues to minimize impact to overall performance of the operation
- Constantly improve technical knowledge of the assembly equipment for which you are responsible
- Support evaluation, specification, installation, and validation of new manufacturing equipment as needed
- Serve as project member or project leader on improvement programs as needed
- Willing to voluntarily take on additional tasks and responsibilities, as needed, to ensure the continued success of our operation as well as the company at large.
- Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Experience operating machinery in a high-volume production environment
- Have experience using hand tools, as well as measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic mechanical concepts
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct routine mechanical issues
- Above average communication skills and the ability to work as part of a highly productive team
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
- 2+ years of experience operating machinery that manipulates metal
- Knowledge of SAP and MES systems
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
