The Licensed Practical Nurse delivers quality care consistent with the scope of practice outlined by the South Carolina nurse practice act for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses. The LPN is responsible for tasks, activities, and functions delegated and may assign duties to others as defined in the state practice act. The LPN monitors patients as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, Medical Director, or other practitioner.
Schedule- Full‑Time Days
- 6 am–6 pm, 3 x 12‑hour shifts, rotating weekends
- Part‑Time Days
- 6 am–6 pm, 2 x 12‑hour shifts, rotating weekends
- Full‑Time Nights
- 6 pm–6 am, 3 x 12‑hour shifts, rotating weekends
- Graduated from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in South Carolina.
- Active CPR certification.
- Knowledgeable of state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Successful completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as required by the role.
- Use a systematic approach to meet each patient’s health needs.
- Implement nursing care within the LPN’s scope of practice, complying with applicable laws.
- Assist in developing and implementing teaching plans tailored to patient needs, focusing on health promotion and maintenance.
- Care for wounds, including cleaning and dressing/banding.
- Administer medications to offenders.
- Provide care for multiple patients as directed by the Medical Director, DON, or Registered Nurse.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes to appropriate medical staff.
- Document actions in the MAR and medical records.
- Perform other nursing duties assigned by the facility.
