Nursing Content Tutor

Charleston Southern University invites applications for a part-time professional nursing content tutor in the College of Nursing to provide academic and clinical skills support for students.

Job Duties

• Provide academic support to nursing students through individual or group tutoring sessions.
• Collaborate with nursing faculty to identify academically at-risk students.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve student performance in the classroom, on exams, and in the clinical setting.
• Assist learners with mastering didactic and clinical nursing content in fundamentals, pharmacology, maternity, women's health, psychiatric/mental health, pediatrics, and adult health courses.
• Guide students in mastering clinical skills in the simulation and lab setting.
• Assist students with developing effective test preparation, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Maintain documentation of student attendance at individual or group tutoring sessions and student progress toward academic and clinical goals.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in nursing is required. Must hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License in South Carolina. Prior teaching experience in an ADN or BSN program preferred. 2+ years of recent clinical experience as a registered nurse. Current certification in Basic Life Support.
