Core responsibilities- Service & Repair:
Diagnose and fix ice merchandisers at customer sites, plants, DCs, and refurbishment centers. - Installations:
Complete installs, removals, and replacements of equipment per assignment. - Preventive Care:
Perform routine PMs and cleaning to maximize uptime and longevity. - Readiness:
Maintain a safe, well‑stocked service vehicle; monitor tool condition and parts inventory. - Continuous Improvement:
Apply lean methods (VSM, Kaizen, A3); participate in Kaizen events and value stream mapping. - Training & Growth:
Attend company‑sponsored technical trainings; expand trade skills and maintain internal performance standards. - Customer
Experience:
Communicate respectfully and consistently; set the bar for outstanding service. - Knowledge Sharing:
Provide SOP improvement feedback to the Field Equipment Service Manager; engage in peer discussions via video and calls. - Professionalism & Safety:
Drive safely, arrive in uniform and on time, report incidents immediately, and follow all safety requirements. - Team Support:
Collaborate across teams; take on additional duties as directed; uphold the Code of Business Ethics and personal accountability for safety.
- English comprehension for safety/operating documentation.
- Operate with constant alertness; remain unfatigued and safety‑focused.
- Accurately gauge time/distance; rapidly store and recall instructions.
- Sustain attention on complex tasks requiring judgment.
- Adapt to sudden changes, alarms, and emergencies; respond quickly with unimpaired coordination/reflexes.
- Commitment to safety; promptly address changing operating conditions.
- No mental/physical impairment that compromises safe performance.
- Supervisory responsibility:
None.
- EPA Type I or Universal refrigeration certification (required).
- High school diploma or refrigeration Trade School Certificate, or equivalent experience.
- Valid operator’s/Class C driver’s license with acceptable MVR; able to operate a company vehicle.
- 80%+ on internal Tech 1 training courses.
- Basic computer and handheld proficiency; follow handheld reporting SOPs.
- Experience in refrigeration/HVAC/electrical or similar service is a plus, not required.
- Schedule includes weekends, nights, and holidays; minimal travel with possible overnight.
- Frequent driving between retail sites and plant locations.
- Lift up to 60 lbs; use installation lift equipment; climb ladders; use power tools.
- Overtime as needed.
- Fast‑paced, rapidly changing setting—manage stress, build collaborative relationships, and reason through complex situations.
