Position SummarySumter High School is seeking a motivated and student-centered Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop a competitive program that emphasizes academic success, character development, and athletic excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the girls basketball program (varsity and sub-varsity).
- Plan and conduct practices, implement game strategies, and support year-round development.
- Monitor academic progress and ensure eligibility compliance.
- Maintain compliance with district and South Carolina High School League regulations.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration.
- Supervise student-athletes at all events and coordinate team travel.
- Previous basketball coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and program development.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to student-athlete academic and character development.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to transport student-athletes as needed.
- Ability to meet district and state certification requirements.
