Summary:
Responsible for the pick‑up and delivery of donated items from households (tickets), attended donation centers (ADC), and retail stores.
- Operate truck in a safe manner abiding by all applicable State and local transportation rules and regulations.
- Perform daily pre‑trip inspections on vehicle prior to starting route. Maintain daily log of scheduled stops.
- Maintain constant communication with Dispatcher via telephone.
- Load and unload vehicle in a manner to safeguard donated items from breakage.
- Keep vehicle clean inside and out.
- Haul trash and scrap metal as authorized.
- Return salvage to centralized warehouse.
- Perform daily post‑trip inspections on vehicle and notify the Transportation Manager of any concerns.
- Ensure that first aid kit and fire extinguisher are maintained (i.e. order supplies, check inspection date on fire extinguisher).
