Forklift Operator

Position Summary

We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for a high-volume warehouse environment. This is a temp-to-hire role supporting inbound receiving, outbound loading, order staging, and related warehouse activities. Candidates must be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working long shifts with consistent overtime.

Pay: $16.00/hour (Overtime expected based on volume)
Location: 1681 McMillan Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405
Schedule: Rotating Shifts

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  Days: Monday-Saturday (Sunday possible)
  Hours: 60-65 hours/week expected during peak volume

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily forklift inspection and complete daily forklift production logs
• Pre-stage orders:
  • Verify product and lot before pulling
  • Ensure pick ticket matches customer order
  • Leave pre-stage pick ticket with staged material
• Obtain pick tickets from the Traffic Coordinator and verify labels / special load instructions
• Inspect trailers prior to loading (dust/dirt, floor damage, holes, odors, protrusions, leaks, etc.)
• Inspect materials prior to loading (damage, mold/mildew, dirt, bugs, broken pallets, etc.)
• Clean materials/pallets if needed
• Stretch-wrap lids of LTL box shipments as required
• Ensure proper loading patterns are followed; use T-braces, void fillers, and air bags as required
• Take photos with white board as required by customer procedures and return camera daily
• Unload inbound trailers; put away material; complete inbound sheet and turn into Traffic Coordinator
• Unload inbound supplies, mark properly, and store in designated areas
• Pull samples as required
• Complete repacks, relabeling, re-classes, and title transfers as assigned
• Ensure inbound/outbound paperwork is verified by the warehouse lead ("checker") per procedures
• Follow warehouse moves process for any moved material
• Assist packaging lines and other tasks assigned by Shipping Lead/Terminal Manager

Requirements

• Prior forklift experience in a warehouse environment (recent experience preferred)
• Able to work 12-hour shifts and significant overtime (60-65 hours/week)
• Strong attention to detail (tickets, labels, product/lot verification)
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Must pass pre-employment screening (drug screen and background check)
