Job Description

Manufacturing equipment and processes require a high degree of specialized attention around the clock. The primary objective is to maximize efficiency and prevent any interruption of production by achieving control over the systems the manufacturing cycle depends on. The systems include facility, equipment, utility, and controls. These systems are maintained and continually improved by Engineer Technician I. Their role also contributes to the design of products and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Work independently under the guidance of a supervisor or technical lead on assignments with clear objectives and a limited number of variables.
  • Support system maintenance, equipment or process design and development, validation of equipment, materials and processes, and preparation of specifications.
  • Comply with applicable policies, procedures, regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical service, daily monitoring and troubleshooting of assigned systems, and recommend improvements in design, installation, start‑up or execution of projects or tasks.
  • Maintain documentation, monitoring logs, Best Operating Practices, training manuals, etc. for regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the implementation of long‑term projects to maintain efficiency.
  • Help operations troubleshoot potential impacts on production and facility systems.
  • Exchange information with project team members, designers, management, and other engineering or production personnel; deliver recommendations and suggestions within the department.
  • Provide technical assistance and information to production, engineering groups, outside consultants, contractors and various departments within the Company.
  • Participate or assist engineers in the design of process equipment or systems for optimal performance, and assist in the start‑up of new and troubleshooting existing facilities/equipment.
  • Identify issues and implement troubleshooting techniques necessary to avoid production downtime; closely monitor assigned systems for potential issues and/or improvements.
  • Respond to requests, evaluate problems, determine causes and communicate and implement solutions efficiently.
Qualifications
  • High School or GED required; technical school completion or certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of prior technical experience in one or more specialty areas with basic knowledge of systems described.
  • Knowledge of basic regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot and understand electrical panels.
  • Electrical certification preferred.

  • The compensation range described below reflects the range of possible base pay for this role based on the job grade. Compensation within this range may vary based on many factors including geographic location.
