Overview
Senior Project Engineer to lead small-to-medium capital projects supporting an API Pilot Plant and R&D laboratories. Manage projects from concept through execution, supporting pharmaceutical process development and API manufacturing while ensuring compliance with cGMP, safety, budget, and schedule requirements.

Duration12+ Month Contract (Extension based on performance)
Key Responsibilities- Lead capital projects (up to $5M) involving process equipment installation, facility upgrades, and laboratory improvements.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, procurement, and execution to meet business objectives.
- Develop and review P&IDs, process equipment specifications, URS, and engineering documentation.
- Design and support pharmaceutical process systems, including tanks, reactors, pumps, piping, instrumentation, and utilities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Facilities.
- Support commissioning, qualification, startup, and implementation of new equipment and systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and engineering evaluations for capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with FDA cGMP, OSHA, environmental regulations, and engineering standards.
- Drive risk assessments, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of Project or Process Engineering experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or related manufacturing environments.
- Strong experience with capital project management, including cost, schedule, and quality control.
- Hands-on experience with P&t, process equipment specification, instrumentation, and process system design.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment such as reactors, tanks, pumps, piping systems, and process utilities.
- Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, and URS/protocol development.
- Working knowledge of FDA cGMP, OSHA, and applicable engineering codes.
- Excellent communication, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
