Role Summary
Marketing Manager II, Fellowship and Residency Programs – Mid Atlantic. The Marketing Manager leads training, surgical support, and education initiatives to integrate Abb Vie technologies at teaching institutions. The role focuses on training labs, surgical support, and education for MIGS/Interventional Glaucoma and Retina technologies, and facilitates transitions of Fellows/Residents into private practice by connecting them to the receiving sales teams.
Responsibilities- Training:
- Attend the surgeries and cases until the surgeons and fellows are proficient and confident in performing the procedure.
- Effectively execute thorough wet lab procedural training at target institutions.
- Attend and support surgical/clinical cases as needed to support and update on new techniques to continually improve surgical outcomes.
- Educate PGY3-4 residents, Glaucoma/Retina fellows, and attending faculty on MIGS/Interventional Glaucoma technology, the Glaucoma/Retina markets, Surgical Retina Technologies, and changing therapy paradigm.
- Train clinic staff and physicians to recognize ideal patient types approved for use with Abb Vie technologies
- Product Integration:
- Present and align with appropriate departmental heads (Academic Chairs, Program Directors, Coordinators) on educational needs of Abb Vie technologies on a yearly basis.
- Support hospital administrators/ material managers to gain approval of Abb Vie technologies in assigned accounts.
- If needed, align the surgeon and staff with their respective MSL for medical inquisitions or FRM to educate and assist in getting proper reimbursement for Abb Vie technologies.
- Meetings/
Education:- Conduct training and education meetings with residents/fellows, clinic staff, attending surgeons, and program heads to advance Abb Vie technologies and future opportunities
- Support account-sponsored educational symposiums and meetings.
- Attend and engage at all relative Ophthalmic Conferences and Symposia throughout the year
- Identify and develop academic Key Opinion Leaders
- Facilitate the transition of graduating residents/fellows to receiving Sales Representatives
- Required:
4-8 years of medical device experience (surgical ophthalmic experience preferred). - Preferred:
Ophthalmic surgical and buy-and-bill experience. - Preferred: MIGS and/or Retina surgical sales experience.
- Preferred:
Experience in ophthalmic teaching environments. - Preferred:
Pre-Commercial launch market and program preparations. - Preferred:
Developing and expanding new technology and market opportunities. - Preferred:
Public Speaking proficiency. - Preferred:
Proven experience meeting and exceeding assigned goals. - Preferred:
Ability to build relationships and interact with all levels internally and at the customer level. - Preferred:
Experience with HOPD VAC/approval process. - Preferred:
Proven ability to build and retain customer base. - Preferred:
Experience with customer tracking software – CRM or Veeva. - Preferred:
Ability to work within a budget. - Preferred:
Ability to comply with procedures and processes. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Concentration in Science, Business and/or Marketing preferred.

- Ability to travel approximately 50%–70% of time
