As part of Abb Vie’s Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team, R&D Global Therapeutics is dedicated to building and deploying scalable, business‑driven Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and platforms. We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled Principal Business Systems Consultant, AI Platforms, to lead the strategy and execution of automation initiatives, with an emphasis on AI document generation solutions.

In this role, you will guide the evolution of Abb Vie’s AI platforms by collaborating closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to design, validate, and operationalize impactful AI use cases. You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing business and technical requirements to accelerate delivery of Generative AI solutions that address key business challenges.

• Work with senior business unit clients to understand specific business processes, drivers, and strategy across multiple functions; identify, prioritize, and communicate needs and opportunities for improvement that can be enabled via technology.
• Use technical consulting skills to translate business requirements into BTS and functional requirements.
• Investigate and understand capabilities of existing systems and emerging technologies, and connect these to business needs.
• Interact with Functional Sr Directors/Directors and senior staff.
• Define human and technology capabilities, build training, and mentor teams.
• Account for project requirements, BTO demand initiation, and coordination; anticipate risks and define mitigation plans.
• Resolve scope changes, issues, and risks for large‑scale projects or programs.
• Measure performance against original plans and budgets.
• Navigate cross‑functional, highly matrixed teams and delegate assignments across projects.
• Assess current and emerging business needs, evaluate alternative IT solutions, and determine necessary resources.
• Manage, motivate, and mentor cross‑functional enterprise project teams and work with governance bodies for alignment.
• Seek strategic business opportunities for new or existing IT capabilities.
• Build collaborative relationships and interact with business and technology senior leaders.
• Serve as a senior liaison and business process expert to IT organizations.
• Demonstrate Abb Vie’s Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes and mentor talent.

• Education and Experience:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years experience;
  Master’s Degree with 8 years experience;
  PhD with 4 years experience.
• Knowledge and capabilities in financial planning and evaluation, business plan development, investment modeling, portfolio planning, and Request, Project and Program methodologies (e.g., SDLC); knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• AI Product Management experience.
• Proven experience managing and delivering AI use cases, focusing on generative AI solutions.
• Experience in software requirements definition and workshops with stakeholders.
• Proven experience of software development best practices with proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong technical background to discuss technical concepts.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong understanding of large language models and generative AI technologies.
• Technical writing experience.
• Experience working in the Life Sciences industry and/or GXP validated systems.
• Tools and skills: SDLC Operations, Technical Writing, Agile Scrum, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft M365 Suite, strong presentation skills.
